DEPTH BEYOND ONES: SOLEDAD IN THE GALE
A trio from Oulu, Finland, kicks in to the music grounds with
heavy progressive rock, with a taste of metal and even hazy
grunge. Quite dark songs go forward with haste and agressivity,
and they bounce around in a good way. Vocal melodies are from
harsh growls to strong, beautiful singing, guitars strike with
rage and the rhythm group plays their tricks with a wicked grin.
Sure there is some easier playing too, and even acoustic side
is brought forth. This five piece demonstration, with approx
six and half minutes long songs, promises quite good for the
band eventhough the playing gets stuffed up from time to time.
Gladly, DBO's wondering isn't going the simplest way and
neither are they falling in playing too technically.
Good: diversity, "red line" is clearly found on almost all
parts of the songs
Bad: small haziness on playing / sounds.
