Depth Beyond Ones - Soledad in the Gale
And here's some more of that progressive stuff from Finland. Depth Beyond
One's - Soledad in The Gale might be the most thrashest piece I've ever put
in my walkman. This technically skillful, occasionally progressive
heavy-rock-funk-goofy-pop-kebabminor-chaos trio is like that melodic
version of Primus's and Mike Patton's crack baby.
The trio proceeds uniformly by the power of bass and guitar while the
drums whip on the background. Every now and then they come up with a
crooked time for a while but then they switch back to at least a little
direct sentiment. Time to time it reminds me of a thrash legend Atheist who
had the same mentality towards musical boundries.
DBO is really hard to describe. Fancy guitar solos, bass solos, (Everyone
loves these! *uhm*), nice vocal melodies and crooked times can be found.
If you find anti-mainstream music interesting you should definately go and
take a bite at the bands website.
One point for being original, a point and a half for skills, one for the
loony attitude and a half and a plus for the song Dearth of life. This
works great, at least for me. Others should still be prepared for a little
surprise.
