Depth Beyond One´s: Ebb

Depth Beyond One´s from Oulu has grown officially to a 5-piece band and plays as stretching "progressive metal" as on their previous effort. At least in some ways continuous story record that consists three songs combines distorted guitar riffs which reminds of indie rock to a winding rhythmics, considerably used guitar shredding, vocals from growls to more traditional alternating output and dark metallic runs. Prog-like melody lines get broken by creative twists & turns, gloominess is balanced by peacefullness. Despite of the distortion and dramatic division, bands sound is actually very sensible and fragile. In that indie rock -like darkness some elements strongly brings in mind the Finnish band Lapko, but the metallic roars and overall more prog atmosphere makes quite a big difference. All in all, DBO seems to develop well in their own dusky and heavily roaming category.
