And some words from the authors:

1. Hearth Of Life

We are at the very core of what K+K-tactics is all about.
Somewhere in the deep basement of the house of K+K is a hearth, burning hot coals, gleaming in the dark. Flames lash out, sometimes.
And some goddamn spirit, or phantom or whatever, of progressive elements keeps visiting and throwing more coals in it.
It'll probably go on and on. Maybe it'll never go out. (Kanniainen)

I'd say this turned out like a standard K+K opener:
starting with groovy midtempo motion and then floating into space before entering faster and proggy spheres.
Jarru brought the first two bass sections to the table that we jammed last winter. Then some 9/8 punk and blast parts and that was it.
On the second round we already recorded the stuff so it went down pretty easily.
This would be part V of our "Life saga" and I think it reminds Dearth (part I, by our other band DBO) and Earth the most. (Kuorikoski)

2. Drunken Knife Fight

Drunk of energy drinks, 10 years of proggin' with each other and added mystery. Improvised playthrough.
Synths from Raine add even more mystery. Can you hear the knives being clasped? The hunt beginning?
Who knows what happened! (Kanniainen)

When we rehearsed the title song we thought why wouldn't we do a second one at the same time.
So on the same evening the b-side was recorded live and I think the second take was chosen here.
The songs on our previous release were changing and twirling around for years before recording so
this single would be pretty much like antithesis of that process! (Kuorikoski)
