SESSION DIARY #2
- 12.12.2006 -
"Scent of Decay!"
Greetings from double-o, DBO aka Depth Beyond One's.
One week to go. We are entering studio on 19.12.
The three songs are ready to be recorded on bass, drums and
guitars but vocals and synths are still bit of an enigma for
me atleast. I'm anxious to hear them fit into our playing!
The second demonstration of our musical visions consists of
three songs, "Grand Lapse", "Das Brief" and "A Human Decay".
Same theme hangs around on each songs which makes it already
different than our first demo "Soledad In The Gale". The
promo tells a story about a man losing the love of his life,
and his sanity with her. Twisted thoughts rot his mind and
nothing will be the same. The evil mind starts doing things
in the name of great selfishness... not even his beloved
daughter is left untouched.
Intense training for this final week. Our drummer, Jani,
trained today for five hours straight. Sweat and blood for
a cause! Few beers and some talk about the past demo and the
new promo, and everything should go just fine when we enter
K-Sound Studio again.
Hails and hy's,

Studio day #1:
We returned to K Sound Studio, this nice red house in the middle
of somewhere. First thing was setting up my drum kit. Soon was
noticed that drum head on snare was in too bad shape.. So, Jarru
and Mikko were sent to get a new one! Meanwhile mics were set
up and sounds checked. When boys got back, drum head was changed
and soon we could start recording. After I rehearsed the first song,
studioguy Keke commented that this is sick (great!!).
I must say that this time songs were bit harder than last time,
and so almost a whole day went into drums. But there were still
time for starting Mikko's guitar parts and Jarru's acoustic bassing.
Slowly songs are getting their shape.

Studio day #2:
We started our second day where we left it yesterday - recording
the guitar. Last night I practiced my guitar solos which turned
out to be sick as f**kin' h**l. Without giving up my share is now
done. The pressure is on Jarru's shoulders now! XD XD He just began
his slap-tap-funk-punk-junk-humpty-hump recordings. In comparison
to our last studio project we are taking things more serious as you
might see later in "The Making Of Decay". Deep down in my heart I
believe this is going to be awesome. Everyone is anxious to see how
Antti and Raine succeed in their parts but that's all for now and stay
tuned... in tune.
Heils and führers!
